shiverbones
YASSIR! Speaking of different from everything else on the thread -- those Ziff-Davis painted covers really stand out. Al Anderson? Jack That's my guess. yep! And he is definitely a big influence on me.
ft88
Funny Stuff 28 Awesome book, and hard to find! Is this the missing issue no one can ever seem to find. By no one, I mean the two people trying to complete the run.

shiverbones
RE: funny Stuff - no it wasn't that one, but it is one of the tougher. I think #35 was the thorn in the side, but MY memory is hazy. Rick would know Edited February 27, 2009 by shiverbones
selegue
I'm enjoying the thread! No time to post this morning, but this one stopped me in my tracks. Fago really had a distinctive vision, didn't he? The layout and character designs are different from everything else (so far) on the thread. Look at the swirling water! Jack same way he did the water on the Terry Toons #15 I posted. BTW that is an INCREDIBLY white copy! I browsed the beginning of the thread too fast. You're right, not different from everything else on the thread up to then, esp the raft cover on TT 15 -- not to say that Fago's vision wasn't distinctive. This thread might be a good way for me to finally get a handle on Chad Grothkopf. Were some of the covers you posted by him? Early Terry Toons? shiverbones
That TT15 is a fago cover too... So your original idea still stands

KING of JOKERS
1952 - 1st appearance of Tweety and Sylvester Four Color 406. One of my favorite cartoons. - Hank So you out bid me on this one last year. Sorry to run up the price, but it really didn't go that high. Ed Sorry Ed .... tweety was my favorite growing up. I put in an extremely obscene bid where someone would have said 'suffering succotash' if they would outbid me - Hank
