FF#72 is a great one as well. As is Fury #7 (also, nice to see Steranko getting his props!!!)

 

Hmmm...nobody has said ASM #50 yet?

i always thought asm50 was a bit forced , nice, but heavy handed.

i prefer #39, 2, 43 & 101 by far

 

the pretty book thread did remind me of FF#16, which is my favorite FF cover.

Agree w/ you. Personally, my favorite SA Spidey cover has to be #39.

 

I mentioned #50 as it was the "Wizard #1 Cover Ever" two years ago.

Donald Duck #26 (#1), 1952 (Atom Age? Silver Age?)... The "Halloween" cover by Barks (with Marie Severin doing the coloring!)

 

Action #363 (Adams cover, "Kryptonite AIDS prototype")

 

House of Mystery #192 (freaky mad-scientist involuntary brain surgery cover by Adams)...I guess this may be early Bronze Age...

 

Daredevil #7 (Sub-Mariner, Red Costume, Wally Wood!)

By far the best cover EVER featuring the Thing and the Human Torch is Strange Tales #116! It's WAY undervalued too...and it's one of the few Marvel grey-tone covers.

Timely ,That Strange Tales is a beauty! I bought mine about 12 years ago it's at least vf+ it may be better,Idon't have it near me at the moment.Thanks for reminding me about it again.

i tend to lean towards STT 107 for my favourite early cover, FIRE versus WATER! SUBBY versus TORCH!

spidey #6 was my 1st silver issue i ever bought, so it has a notalgic thrill for me (i was in 6th grade)

FF 26 because half the marvel universe was on that,39 & 40 because of wally wood,Sgt Fury 13 for Cap. And umm,lets throw in FF 46 because black bolt is so cool.

Spidey #6 was also the first Silver Age I ever bought (right off the stands)!

 

Strange Tales #107 is my favorite cover from that time period. I sometimes think it could have been done better with a different background color (graduated blue maybe) but it's impact is powerful! Also like Strange Tales #114 and #116.

 

Steranko - X-Men #50 - top 10 fave!

For my money it would have to be SubMariner #7 where Subby is shown against the background of a black and white photo of I believe NYC

Are you sure? I though Subby #7 was the battle w/ he and Thing. You may be thinking of Fury #4 (Awesome Steranko cover) where Fury is striking a similar pose. (Side note: Dave Johnson swiped this cover for 100 Bullets Issue #8!!)
