Here's a title no one gives a rat's about, so let's give it a little respect guys. It came out the same month as FF#48, Spidey #34 & X-Men #18.

See, this is what I mean by not "pretty". It is a nice book, super grade for the age, and one you don't see very often. But that cover is simply butt-ugly. Terrible composition, blah colors, etc etc.

Is this the Dr. Doom Western prototype issue? I heard Overstreet was adding this to the guide this year!

I don't know if this particular villain is a Doom prototype, as the Iron Mask's first appearance is Kid Colt #110 (5/63) - a year after Doom's first appearance and after TOS #31 too (7/62 - a Doom prototype issue).

 

OVST lists the Iron Mask as an "Iron Man type villain."

 

Iron Mask also appeared in KC #114.
