Another first appearance question????

We all know that Swamp Things first appearnace was in HOS #92, however, it is not Wrightson's first Swamp Thing art. HOM #195 was. A number of questions:

 

Why isn't HOM #195 accorded the importance that it should? and

Why did DC delay publishing it until after HOS #92?

wellllll, its really just sort of a forest monster, not REALLY a swamp monster. The Editors kept a large back log of inventory to pick from, so maybe it just took a bit of time to see print confused-smiley-013.gif

i think Phantom Stranger #14 is more startling since that IS a "Swamp monster" story & is written by len wein, and is printed pre HOS92!

And let's not forget The Heap in the 40's AIRBOY comics. The very first (to my recollection) Swamp Thing!
