Archie has outlasted Marvel and DC on the newstands if you think about it,

I expect them to be around in another 50 years as they are privately owned unlike Marvel and DC owned by corporations. now I am saying comic companies not characters as Superman,Batman and Spider-man will always be around in some form.

....And Samm Schwartz and Harry Lucey....

 

I was still picking up some Double Digests once in awhile, but it's just not worth it anymore.

They've developed enough of a backlog of substandard material now that the number of

gems isn't worth the price of admission. Luckily I still have hundreds of digests from

the '70's and '80's to fall back on.

The upside is you can still buy the '60s books for less than a new comic would cost...

 

And as you well know, definitely not the case with any of the early Archies, especially in grade as these always go for multiples of guide.
