Always liked this cover. Most of the Kid run doesn't do much for me. I think someone said before, if this cover was on another title it would be HUGE!

Let's pretend the artwork was for MM #17 instead of KID KOMICS # 2....I've always been in love with the MM logo....

Nicely done!! hail.gif893applaud-thumb.gif

Now if you could only replace the Young Allies with MM characters, we would have an instant classic!

My small but key group of Timely's ... most of these I have wanted for about 25 years, since I was a lad...

...And a killer group shot of those Timelys! Man!

You will probably want to unload your Science Comics #3 and #4 at this point, as they clearly fall outside your collecting interest. wink.gif

I had a book on pulps published in the '70's when I was a kid, and it had the MARVEL SCIENCE #1 pulp in it... thats what turned me onto the run.

Have a scan?

Wow, that is one nice looking copy! Is it unrestored?

Hey October,

The book is "The Pulps" edited by Tony Goodstone, pub'd 1970.

The Red Raven is restored slightly, with some color touch, and I think spine reinforcement. I got it form a dealer from his private stash, and I wasn't too picky about what the work was, as long as it was minor. To the eye, it doesn't look restored.

Sweet Red Raven 1!

A batch came back from the Graders today, you have seen these in the raw, now the slabbed versions.

Mr. Schomburg,

I covet your C.A.'s Weird Tales #75 ... what a great Horror cover. Its up there with MARVEL TALES #93 ... I love those early transition books, between hero and horror!

Hey Jon would you consider this to be one of the rarest and hardest to find Timely's?

I do not pretend to be an expert on this. Get Carey and Evans on that.....I have not bought Timelys in a while...but when I was Daring Mystery 2 "was said" to be the toughest....but mid numbers in Caps and MM may be tough also.

Frankly, I love the Daring Mystery 2 and Mystic 2 covers.....Just wonderful covers

These two "twos" scream "Golden Age!"

(Both are restored. Did it back in 1983. Seems I remember reading some place about negative things about restoration....hmmm. Back then it was even considered the "enlightened" thing to do, so to perserve these books for future generartions. Attitudes may have changed over the last 24 years, but not the impact of these two GA treasures. To me they will always be "keepers")

Picked this up over the weekend from MrBedrock. Full disclosure (cover cleaned) of course, and some of the whitest pages that I've ever seen on a Timely: yay.gif

Sweet book. It also has three staples as well. Not too common.

Peter, Peter, man that is a sweet copy of 89,or is it 88? Those quirky Candien's!

Yeah they did the same thing with SMC#32, not sure why but I'm surpised one of you American's picked up on it. poke2.gif Hey the price is right on these Canadian prints, I'm glad they are still under the radar.
