Another Allen Ulmer cover for comparison. I don't think I have shown any of this new batch of scans before but I might forget since it has been a while since anyone contributed to this thread.

I am not sure whether Sparky worked out very well. Does anyone know the story?

Later issues had art by Kamen.

Now that is good art (thumbs u

Those Stoner ones though are quite awful. Oddly, the supporting cast of characters in Stoner stories look ok, but BB looks like he let his child draw it for him

Very strange

This splash page is very similar to the cover to Atomic Comics #4 by Matt Baker.

West

Yes there is some similarity. Could the cover be by Kamen or Webb?

Stoner did some interesting work for Popular and The Funnies. I like the Gang Busters cover. The Phantasmo cover reminds me of Fantastic 4 I think.

I noticed a good article on Stoner was mentioned in the GCD chat group. The author also submitted some photos of Stoner.

He was in this ad for Gordon's Gin.

And he drew this nifty cover for the Challenger. Didn't Kubert do some work for one of those issues? I think it was 4 and had a double page centerfold by Joe.

Thanks for these new scans. Check out Ken Q's blog spot if interested.

Do you know what issues of Blue Beetle that Quinlan illustrated?

I think he has stories in 13, 15, 16, and 21-24. I will check for splash pages in my files.

The last one is questionable but he signed a lot of the others.

Thanks for the list of comics and alias names for Allen Ulmer. I am his granddaughter and I have just begun to look up his work. It has not been an easy task. We don't have any of his comics, my grandmother got rid of all of them many years ago. Such a shame, but I guess they both had their reasons for not holding onto things. Other than looking up his name online, do you have any other suggestions. I am very new to the comic world and I would love to be able to acquire some of his work. Are there any popular conventions, etc.? I would sincerely appreciate any suggestions you might have. Thanks again for already doing some of the legwork for me :) His one alias, WILMER MUDDLESHTUNK, was definitely in honor of his favorite movie. I can remember him watching The Maltese Falcon many times :)

Thanks again and I hope to hear from you soon

Jill
