Agreed - I mean it's a cool artifact and does have the Hellboy prototype on the cover, so I can see it being desirable to the completist, but is there even a Hellboy story in it? If I had a copy, I'd keep it, but I'm not a hardcore enough Hellboy fan to track one down. Fortunately I attended the '93 SDCC - though I didn't realize I had the SDCCC #2 first appearance until years later.

Here are some stupid prices, not massive or jaw-droppingly expensive, but for what they are they're pathetic prices to me. I can't stand this seller solely for the prices they put on their overgraded books. And there refusal to provide large scans on request. Wankers.

I'll go take a look now. I had two 'run-ins' with Ricky Appleby. He had a Batman #612 2nd print signed with no COA (not that they mean jack anyway) up for sale for £23. I offered £16. He countered me with £22. A whole £1 saving. Tosser.

 

Then last week I had an ASB&R #1 RRP CGC ss 9.6 up for auction starting at 99p. The scumbag bid on it with a £25 maximum bid. Imagine how much that would have gone up for if he'd won it? Seriously though, £25 max bid on an SS book when he has a raw sitting there at £99? Can't stand the guy.

There are SEVEN Ruby Red 9.8s on the census, and 18 total.

 

That's rare, but it is NOT $5,000 rare.

 

By contrast, there are TWO...yes, 2!...Vengeance of Vampirella #1 Royal Blues on the census...one 9.8, one 9.6.

 

Now THAT is a "$5,000 rare" book.
