How does CGC grade Otherwise MINT books with cover crease?

7 posts in this topic

I have a cupple of MIRACLEMAN #1's with no spine creases,no spine folds, Sharp corners BRIGHT & GLOSSY cover and inner pages, BUT! there is a printing crease on the cover of some of the issue's. Infact it seams to be a commen accurance with this issue. (it sort'a looks like a thin lightning bolt thanks to the black background) Except for that one defect the books look darn near perfect. So how would CGC grade? Also how about the printers crease withen

this issue on several pages? I have come across MANY MM#1's and they ALL have this problem to a degree.

Most of the time, printing defects do not affect the grade

though they should.

Wouldn't that be more of a QP issue like centering and not condition?

Thats a production defect, not handling defect. Depending on how big the crease is and where its at, depends on if it gets a 9.8. A small crease on the back cover will definately get a 9.8 a large one right across the front cover often times is enough to knock it down to a 9.6.
