Excellent. Please let them do Kingdom Come with Peter Jackson at the helm since the battle scene at the end would match what he had to do with LOTR's big fight scenes.

So, now that the first couple of shows have passed this spring can anyone comment on what the market is like for SC #22? Still high demand with collectors asking for it, or has it lost a lot of steam?

On Ebay, when SC22 is priced right, they sell quickly. In the open market, most copies offered has been under 5.0. With the last two 5.0/5.5 Heritage copy doing well, the demand is there for mid to high grade copies. The Green Lantern movie is planning to begin filming April and let's hope everything will go right. Demand for GL1 has spiked, since it is more affordable than SC22. Since Showcase 22 is more scarce than AF15, SC22 price is stable and holding. Below are some fun facts.

 

Showcase 22

scarce=6.0+

uncommon=4.0-5.0

common=1.0-3.5

 

on the CGC census (universal grade)

white pages=extremly rare (only two exist)

off-white to white pages=rare (estimated 5-10)

FWIW, I will be pricing my 4.0 at $2,000 and my 2.0 at $800 for the local spring shows. Last year someone bought a 1.5 copy of Adventure #247 for $1,000, so hopefully they are looking for a SC #22. lol

Let's just say that it is a scarce book in these parts, just like any early SA DC or Marvel key, so I should have a good shot at it. :wishluck:

Here's is some fun facts. I added the value of all 231 universal grades on CGC census and based of copies with off-white and under page quality and came up with this total.

 

all 5.0-9 copies value $401000

 

all .5-4.5 copies value $200750

 

total for value for all universal grade $601750

 

For fun, I've did a Showcase 22 index (SC22) and it will be based on 231 copies as of 3/22/10

 

The index stands at 2604.8 3/22/10

For copies 3.0 and under, it will cost you less than $1K. If it's 3.5-4.5, it will cost you $1200-2200, and for copies 5.0+ it will start at $3K. You can check a few pages back on this thread for price sales.

Lotsa places online, ComicLink has huge auctions almost monthly and you can check the marketplace for SC22 regularly. Heritage Auctions, eBay, Pedigree comics (mostly Marvels tho), Worldwide comics, ComicConnect. Check out local conventions or shows where you can haggle a little more (my preference). Also you can check the for sale threads on the Boards here, you never know when one of the SC22s in this thread might show up...
