kimik
The only snag though is there always seems to be plenty of SA DC... in low /mid grade. I think if I was a HIGH grade collector, there would be a fantastic field to hunt in with SA DC. Collecting high grade SA DC is a soul-sapping, spirit-breaking experience. Before or after selling them off? You did very well in accumulating a great collection. It was one of the reasons I sold them off. Collecting them became just too damn hard. Part of the fun was the challenge, but when you go for years without adding a single new copy to a particular title that you collect, you start to lose the thrill. That is the main reason I gave up, and I was also too cheap to snag some of the early GLs and others I was chasing before they ran up. I kept telling myself that it was foolish to pay big money for them when 1) they had stagnated for so long pricewise that there was no hurry and 2) there were sure to be more copies surfacing shortly. I dumped my GL #7 CGC 9.2 as soon as another copy popped up since I thought that was the tipping point. On the other hand, I did sell my handful of HG Flash issues at the same time and that proved to have been the smart move.

Granted, some might say we are a bit biased But the very fact that they finally have the movie technology to even attempt doing a film about one of our favorite comic characters, has got to be worth seeing. I can't wait to see Flash on film, as was prophesized on the cover of Showcase #4. I may be biased. First serious DC character other than Superman and Batman with a flick. In fact, with it also being 3D, this will attract a much larger audience. Let's all hope this will bring the next generations and make GL a household entity. Sounds your first love is Flash <3 or maybe Wonder Woman <3 Maybe with the success of GL will lead to the Flash and Wonder Woman. Mac Man
I dunno... I am a little concerned over having Ryan Reynolds in the lead--not exactly an actor with the chops to pull off a lead in my opinion. And it'll be interesting to see how the masses respond to the Sci-Fi aspect of it when compared to Marvel's efforts in grounding their heroes in the real world. Anyhow, I'm skeptical but I won't be upset if it does well. Really, any movie that helps bring in newer fans of comics is AOK in my book!

kimik
I have watched the trailer a few times now, and the more often I see it the more it grows on me. There is the potential for a good flick here, especially if the GL corps on Oa scenes are done well.
Boba
I think Mac Man hit on something, that fans may respond to the Sci-Fi aspect of it. If you look at it, I think that's the difference between SA DC & Marvel. DC comics and especially the covers have more of a "science fiction" angle to many of them (Flash, Green Lantern, Atom even the justice league - fogedebout Mystery in Space, Strange Adventures, Tales of the Unexpected, etc., etc.) while Marvel tended to deal with more social issues. Maybe why the older kids seemed to flocked to Marvel when I was a kid, with Johnny Storm goin' to college and Peter Parker's chick problems. They're both great for different reasons. Now we return to the regularly scheduled program
