Im thinking there are 2 Atom collectors, the guy who sold that run and the person who paid big money to get em. Likely bought the Western Penn Showcase 34 in the Clink auction so doesnt need the Slobodian that is up.

That was my Showcase 34 that I sold on Heritage in 2007. Interesting that it`s now been identified as a Slobodian, as it was never identified that way to me, including by Mark Wilson, who sold it to me.

If the buyer of the collection is passing on the Slobodian because he has the Western Penn copy already, he`s making a mistake because the Slobodian is superior. And that`s coming from a huge WP fan.

100% agree, your old copy looks very, very nice Tim. The WP had more wear and also looked like it had some slab damage on the LRFC. Wonder how they got Slobodian out of it if the 2 prior owners didnt even know it was from that collection.

I don't think anyone is going to shell out $5k for a F+. (shrug)

Totally worth its money. I have no idea why it doesn´t sell (shrug)

Still around three hours left to bid and anything can happen. :)

You collect any other comics, or just this one? :baiting:

Yeah...golden age, silver age, bronze age, and copper age since I was 12 years old. Just love it!!!

Superman is my favorite, next is Green Lantern, and last but not least...Spiderman. If you see my signature...the Amazing Spiderman #1 I bought it when I was 16 years old with my paper route money. (thumbs u

As you all well know, this club is about SC22. We have found out a great deal of information this year. What other thread can you think of which has such a tremendous growth. We should thank kimik for starting this thread. Not many would have anticipated this surge in demand for the book and interest in this thread. At the end of the day, when demand for SC22 wanes down, so will this thread.

So there was one bid at 5K but from a (0) rated buyer. Actual sale?

I guess, we have to wait and find out.

What is with the whitish scuffs/ink issues you see along the spine on a lot of these books? Even this 8.5 has it.

Do you mean the whitish scuff near along the spine in the grey area? Maybe printing defect in most copies. hm

I have to be honest about this. After seeing a larger scan of the Nicolas Cage copy on Heritage, I just don't see it as a 8.5. The dust shadow on the right is quite visible. This is the weaker 8.5 in my opinion.
