Covers like THIS make me think about starting to collect WAR comics

37 posts in this topic

I have never been interested in war comics, but lately I seem to notice more and more great covers on old war comics.

This one below is being sold on ebay this week I noticed.

It's covers like this that make me think about collecting old war comics.

I am so glad the artist did not include any words being spoken on the cover, it's perfect the way it is.

There are so many great war covers.....

But it only takes one to turn you off to the genre...IF it's bad enough.

Take this for example...

Yes it's the alternate version...THANK GOD there was an editor to stop the Tighty Whitey SS from making it to the stands.

I don't know much about war comics.

I just really love the fact this cover shows no action, but tons of suspense.

There is no yelling, no motion, no gunfire ........ but you can see the fear and anticipation in the soldier's eyes as he silently wait for the enemy in the dark

Great mood cover.

I would never let one bad cover ruin the fun for me

There have been BAD covers in every genre and for every major title

If this was true, Rob Liefeld would have killed the entire superhero genre just by himself

True, True...although it was on life support around '96-'97.

He did his best but the genre survived in spite of it all.
