OT: Twister went by about 500ft from my home!

On Wed, this EF2 was moving around my neighborhood,,,

In honor of the big bag of wind, we all watched the movie Twister last night for family night

 

Someone actually caught video of the big bag of wind...

I've never seen a tornado in person, and never want to. One of my greatest fears. Glad you dodged the bullet on that one. What a great picture too.

Very impressive photo.

I have seen over 20 Tornadoes in my lifetime, experienced an F4 that destroyed my place of employment in 1987.

Wow, INTENSE photo. Very glad you and yours are alright though! There was a tornado some 20 miles northeast of me actually. The second twister I've heard of in Jersey in my short life P:

Yup, an EF 2 in Wantage NJ.

 

say what you will about Jersey, but we almost never get Tornadoes or Quakes and have rarely been hit by a Hurricane...

Yup! This was the 3rd twister for me. A little over 14 years ago, one went by my place in upstate ny and dropped tennis ball sized hail everywhere.

And about 7 years ago when I worked in NYC (lived in Jersey City) I had a view of the cloud aftermath of a twister that went near my apt. (from my office). The clouds unraveled over midtown manhattan like a long dark spiral....

I've never seen a tornado in person, but for some reason I have a nightmare about them every once in a while. Must be some kind of primal fear I guess.

Wow thats crazy. We had one in the poconos at my parents house about 10 years ago. Destroyed a lot of trees, luckily it dodged the houses.
