2nd CGC Board Lunch in Edmonton this Sunday

We are holding the 2nd CGC Boards lunch in Edmonton, Alberta, on Sunday. Any and all board members are welcome to join us.

 

When: 1:30 pm on Sunday, August 16th

 

Where: Joey Tomato's on 113th and Jasper Ave.

 

And yes, even Calgary based members are invited.

Our board get togther was a great time. In attendance was Kain/Artboy/Kimik/Piper and myself. Unfortunately 500club was called into work and couldn't make it. A shame because he has a monster collection and everytime we get together I try to buy a few of his SA ASM 9.4 undercopies.

 

We snacked on wings, salads and burgers and washed it all down with some delicious draft beer.

When we get together we like to bring books we've aquired since our last meeting.

Quite a few FF this meeting as I've bought a few and Ryan is trying to sell us a few. Also an early ST Human Torch appearance that is essentially a very cheap FF appearance.

Kimik has been Green Lantern crazy for some reason. Kain has been on a buying tear lately and his FF5 is beautiful. Perfect grade for me but he refuses to sell.

I believe the Ranger Comics were Pipers, wonderful classic covers. Can't remember who belongs to the ASM 30, Artboy? The ASM 72 and 87 are beautiful and just drip colour and gloss. Thanks for your undercopies 500club/Brian.

The Startling Comics came home from SDCC with me, I love it. The Adventure Comics are Pipers and we've seen them before but I hope he brings them everytime we get together.

The Xmen 1, Avengers 4 and I believe JLA are Kains. Great books.

AF15 is John's and the FF is mine. They look wonderful together. The waitress seemed most impressed by the AF15 but what the ding dong does she know? When I tried to explain Marvel chipping to her she rolled her eyes and left the room. :shrug:

Its great that you have these regional meetings but every once in the while there should be a Grand National Canadian Comic Meet where East meets Midwest meets those guys in BC who think they are better than the rest of us

I'm sure it will be an Olympic Comic Event
