any advice for shipping to Canada for high priced books$1000 and up would be appreciated

USPS has a limit of $675 to Canada for Priority Int'l, and $5,000 for Express Int'l.

 

If you need more than that, UPS or FedEx would probably be better choices.

Which means if USPS is out-- use FedEx. (Most of us HATE UPS.)
