Stamps on back of comic ?

7 posts in this topic

I was thinking more like a a 7.5-8.0 ?

The scan is a bit fuzzy so it's hard to see the spine clearly.

Given the corners are a bit soft, there appears to be spine stresses, it overhangs the top and it has a fairly bad miscut, I think 7.5 is the best you could hope for but probably unlikely.

But that's just my opinion, so it's worth about 2 cents. insane.gifsmile.gif

Based upon all the slabs I've analyzed, I don't believe CGC downgrades for back-cover stamps below the 9.8 level, although I haven't seen enough examples to be sure. It's hard to figure this out these days since CGC doesn't note them on the label anymore and since most sellers don't post back-cover scans when they're selling via the Internet.

Based on that one example, I'd say VF- 7.5 is a bit optimistic too, especially for late SA Marvels that are in fairly plentiful supply in high grade. I agree that the stamp would affect the grade very little if at all.
