A while back....there was a HULK 181 that CGC slabbed as a NM+ 9.6

 

Steve came on and said that the book would have received a 9.8/9.9 if not for the miswrap....

 

In the absence of production quality notations , how are we to know what books were downgraded for reasons besides "structure"?

 

For example:

 

Was this downgraded due to the miscut?

 

 

Would this be downgraded because of it's QP?

 

 

 

I didn't want to start yet another QP thread.....but IMO, downgrading that HULK 181 was a mistake.

 

Instead of owning a POS 9.8/9.9 HULK 181, the owner of that book ended up owning a POS 9.6......

I don't need no label to tell me if the book is centered or not.

(And I wouldn't pay the shipping on the two you just posted.)

 

QP for me.

I'd rather have a dead centered 9.4 than a miscut 9.8.

(Except that I *could* sell the 9.8 and buy 30 9.4's.)

 

Oh well...

I think they do consider QP, but only in the Ultra-High grades 9.8 and up.

 

Like foxing is allowed up to 9.4...

 

I guess bad QP is allowed up to 9.6.

Have you ever seen a bad ink transfer on a 9.8?

I've only seen them on 9.6s and down.
