Beware "makemeanofferandwin" on ebay. Here's my short story...

87 posts in this topic

To clarify he sold it to me under makemeanofferand win as unrestored I paid CGC found the restoration and he refunded my bid price but did not refund me CGC costs, inspite of the fact that he said he would several times before I left negative feedback. He just continued to send me harassing emails and never refunded me as promised so I left him the negative.

Giraffemaster, I need the original ebay auction number for that sale so I can talk to ebay about Narbeh's mutliple accounts. I sent you a PM but you haven't replied.

Thanks

Nevermind I think I found it under makemeanofferandwin's negative feedback.... 160355309402

It has been reported to ebay and further action will be taken withing 48 hours.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Hello all,

I'm new to the boards but since I use them (sometimes to check for suspicious sellers) I would like to pass this info along to any interested parties:

I put very small bids on several of "makemeanofferandwin" auctions suspecting a scam but figuring why not bid low and follow along. I received around 15 of these emails from ebay this morning:

Dear show_time_collections,

We are writing to let you know that the listing for the following item you bid on has been removed:

160496260966 - Journey Into Mystery #112 Hulk vs Thor Vol 1 VF+ 8.5

We strongly recommend that you do not complete this purchase. Purchases of items listed on eBay but then completed outside of eBay are extremely risky. They are not covered by eBay buyer protection programs and are highly susceptible to fraud.

For more information on offers to buy or sell outside of eBay, please go to:

Our goal is to keep eBay safe so you can buy confidently. It is rare that something goes wrong with a transaction on eBay, but these events do occur from time to time. When they do occur, we try to help as much as possible to resolve the issue.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,

Also when you search ebay for the seller it comes back with this "no longer a registered user" result now:
