John Buscema Exhibit - Palma de Mallorca - September 16 / November 8, 2009

Glad to help!

This exhibition is an unique opportunity to see in person such a beautiful and historical pieces, so allow me to congratulate, Fred, for your contribution to it (and for the pics!).

I just hope that my schedule allows me to travel to Palma. I live near Madrid, so trips by plane to there are very cheap, and fast (1 hour). My only problem is the lack of free time.

At least, I'll receive the catalog in a couple of days. If reproductions are so good as it looks, I'll treasury it, because for this price, it's a bargain! (328 pgs x 22€!).

If anybody can take some days to travel there, it's well worth the trip! Not only for the exhibition, but for the place. Palma, and the island where is sited (Majorca, Spain), is one of the most prefered tourist destination for british and germans.

You'll find more info about Palma in the wikipedia:

Edited to add:

Just a reminder: The exhibition closes by November, 8th.

Bear in mind that if you decide to visit Palma, the language would NOT be a problem, since each year they receive an invasion of english and german tourists. In fact, in some places, castillian is the third language!

I just posted scans of the catalog in my blog:

The edition is excellent!

Michael Maillot provided artwork and comics to the exhibition, and reviewed all the trasncripts.

I'm told that the comicbook shop can't supply all the catalogs right now. Later I'll contact by phone with the owner, so I can update the info.

Anyway, be patience and don't worry. They didn't expect a demand so strong, so they have to ask for more. I'm sure that, if necessary, they'll reprint the book.

The main problem is that the responsible of this item at the Casal is out, in holidays, and he won't come back till next week. I'm sure that by then, they'll be able to cover all the orders.

I have fresh news.

The owner of the comicbook shop, Joan Miquel, told me via email that he had a meeting with the director of Casal Solleric, where he guaranted no stock problems, at least the first weeks. Joan told me that he'll get the necessary books to cover ALL the orders.

Joan'll receive the first part of the books in one or two days, and the rest next week.

They won't accept any PayPal payments till the books are in the shop.

So don't stress yourself, you'll get your book.

Edited to fix mispelling.

At the end of the past week, Joan Miquel told me that they informed the first 15 people interested that orders were ready to ship, and this week they'd receive the rest of the books.

If any of you who were contacted can update from the costumer leg, this would help me to keep track of the situation. Did anyone pay and the book is on the way?

I already have a copy that I ordered to the Casal, so I don't know how it's to deal with them. I'm aware that they were not ready for a demand so huge, so they need more time than usual, but I suppose that they are serious, and sooner or later they'll serve all the orders. Maybe the problem is the supply from the Casal.
