Edition question on an UG comic

I have a question. How do you designate 1st printings from other editions in underguond comics?

Such as in the book FRED N' HEADS. There seems to be no designation on the CGC cases wether or not the book is a frist, second or third, etc printing...

Also when I look up the book FEDS N' HEADS in the CGC census.. there are two places to find it.. one under the publishers name, Gilbert Shelton, and the other under Print mint. What is the difference there?

Thanks so much for your answer..., Martin

When CGC grades an underground comic, the printing is only noted if it is anything other than the First Printing (Second, Third etc). If you have a copy of Feds N Heads that was graded by CGC, but does not indicate the printing on the label then it would be the First Printing. On our Census for this comic you will notice that the Gilbert Shelton copies do not designate the printing, as they are First Print copies, but the Print Mint issues indicate that they are Second and Fourth Printings respectively.

Thank you for the answer.

So your saying that the Gilbert Shelton copies are first print and have no indication of the printing because they are first editions.. yet the Print mint copies do have a designation...

However, I saw this on Comiclink and I can't tell what edition it is as nothings noted. I assumed it was a first edition. But you are saying that all print mint copies are second edition or higher?

On the label it also says 1968. When in the CGC census the print mint copies are listed as 1969?

You are correct. We have amended all the information in our system to reflect the answer I have provided above, however this book was graded prior to that so the label is incorrect. Should the book be submitted for a reholder, the label would be updated to reflect the correct information as it stands in our system.
