Wolverine

Anyone think that this character is getting ruined? I know he's been over exposed and in every Marvel title but I just read the Dark Reign one shot and really felt robbed of my comic cash. What a piece of junk. His own title has been hi-jacked by Daken and that is starting to go down hill. I haven't been impressed with the Weapon X title either.....And please leave him out of the Avengers when it gets re-launched in January....Seems like they have abandoned this character and are just slapping him into books that mean nothing and have poor stories.I hope that a good writer takes on a Wolverine book for an extended period such as Brubaker or Bendis to get Logan back to a good readable character. At least I have been enjoying the Origins title. The story and art have been fairly consistent.

Just my rant. Feel free to add comments.

Weapon X: Dropped it

Dark Wolverine: Don't mind it actually (not to mention, we did just have Old Man Logan which was pretty tight)

Wolverine: Origins - This is like Spawn for me some years ago. I need to just cut the cord and drop it. Doesn't feel like it has explained much of anything. Just a re-call of villians from the 1st volume.

One-shots - I made the decision to pass on Wolverine one-shots. A million were coming out and really not very good (not to mention, expensive). I seriously considered "The List", but now I'm glad that I passed.

I used to love Wolverine but the comics are just going from bad to worse... 1 good Wolvie title would be awesome. But I guess many Wolvie titles and books with Wolverine in it = $$$ for Marvel and at the end of the dy all they need to do is make money for their shareholders....

I still buy all Wolvie titles. I guess I am one of those stupid collectors they can get all the money from... (speaking for myself, a Wolvie Junkie I guess)

I even buy the terrible Wolvie first class junk!...

Getting?

Was ruined 15 yrs or so ago.

And they can't even kill him off to give somebody a chance to rebuild him since he's totally indestructible.

I don't think they have to kill him. Just a decent creative team. Old Man Logan was decent I agree. Daredevil and Cap have benefited from great writing and art, I think it's Wolverine's turn......Wolverine was one of the reasons I got into Marvel in the 80's (and Iron Man) and has always been a favourite. But, what has been said is true...commercialism rules and anything with Wolvie in it sells comics.

Problem with Wolverine is that his best stories are all alt-reality stories that all take place out of 'continuity'.

When they keep him in the current events of the MU he's incredibly mediocre.

Yes, that's kinda like being extra medium.

Oldman Wolverine / Dark Wolverine were fantastic. Some of the best art I've seen and the story was really, well, dark. Hulk's twisted inbred family was something fierce.

Wolverine is one of the few characters in the marvel universe which they can really crank the gore up for, that's why he keeps coming back. Me thinks.
