This is just a reminder that Pedigree Comics' 6th ever Grand Auction, which went live on Sunday, November 1st, ends beginning tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, November 11th at 3:53 p.m. EST. Please go to the Web site (www.PedigreeComics.com) and click on the Grand Auctions banner to access the auction (under "Auction Listings"). The lots are listed alphabetically from A to Z.

This is our best auction yet, with over 480 high grade comic books and magazines to choose from, particulary ultra high grade (9.4 and higher) Silver Age Marvels. There is something for every Marvel collector out there in the auction and it certainly ranks as one of the best, if not the best, on-line auctions ever for ultra high grade, investment quality Silver Age and Bronze Age Marvels.

We have added a number of great books since the auction started, so please make sure you check out every page for any item you may have missed initially. Remember, the minimum amount to bid is $100 and most of the lots have NO RESERVE!!

Doug, many of the items have reserves. I'm unclear as to what happens when my max bid meets the reserve but my bid does not. I read the rules posted on the site but I'm still not sure. Please advise.

'Reserves:

Some items that are part of the Grand Auction have a reserve price. If there is no reserve price bidding will start at $100.00. The site will display whether the current bid meets the reserve price. If you are the winning bidder but your bid does not meet the reserve price, the auction lot is a pass.'

It's pretty simple. If you bid over the reserve, your bid will break the reserve and the reserve will be met.

Roy, are you saying that if my max bid breaks the reserve it will automatically

jump up to my max bid ?

No, but it will jump up to the reserve. The rest of your max bid above the reserve will still stay hidden.

Example.

Reserve is $100. You bid $150. Reserve is broken and top bid is now $100 even though your hidden max is $150. You have another $50 above the $100 reserve before someone outbids you.

Roy, thanks. This now makes sense. For the record, I don't like reserves.

I have yet to see a reserve on a Clink Auction but I believe they exist.

Bob,

It's really all up to the individual consignor. If a guy has a lot into the book and wants it in the auction (as opposed to the main inventory where there is simply a list price) but does not want to lose $$ on it, he would probably ask for a reserve at the amount he paid for it so at least he breaks even. I can understand that and even on lower value amounts I have no problem putting in a reserve for a consignor. Most of the books, however, have no reserve.
