I believe it depends on the type of tape. I think archival tape will result in a PLOD.

One of my favorite quirks. Use book-destroying tape, blue label. Perform the exact same task with tape that will cause dramatically less damage get the PLOD.

 

On one level I understand the logic, but on another it is just silly.
