Seems like a buyers market on eBay, is it any different on specialty sites?

Speaking of a seller's market, did anyone here survive the bloodbath at Bobcat's this week, and actually win any books? I came out with two Teen Titans and two Superboys - I bid on about 100 books. I can't believe some of the prices those HG OFFs went for.

Under-graded is not the rule but it happens.

 

Undergraded comics I bought on the-bay:

 

Silver surfer #8 "VF"-slabbed at 9.2

Silver Surfer #9 "VF"-slabbed at 8.5 (looks better than the 9.2)

Strange Tales #148 "Guaranteed 9.0"-Yep! slabbed at 9.4

Avengers Annual #1 "about vf"-about right slabbed at 8.5

ASM #122 "VF"-add +1 slabbed at 9.0

Dr Strange #1 "looks great-VF?"-slabs even better 9.6!

FF #55-"Should be about Fine-I can't grade"-Thank you for that! slabbed at 7.5.

 

In the end though over-graded wins out about 10:1

Very nice, but I think your results are the exception and not the rule

 

coming in late to this thread. perhaps the OP of the top quote above can interpret

pictures/scans better then others thus his excellent results?
