Picked up today - there is about an inch semi-circle tear (unfortunately) in the front cover (you can see some of it in purple cloth on Indian bottom left corner)

3.0 IMHO. Cool book.

Nice book. How is the paper quality? Is it tanned?

 

At first glance, it looks like it could be a 9.0. But you have the tear, a crumple in Pecos, a small chew on the right edge, toning and what appears to be some staple rust with light transfer.

 

I think the previous 3.0 is too low. If the paper quality is not too bad, I would call this a 5.0.

I spoke with a fellow board member who stated that these were sold in lots of five on eBay not too long ago because they all had water damage. I actually purchased this at an antique mall this past Saturday, but true to form, the seller had 5 copies altogether in a stack with other comics. I think the crinkle at the top right could have been from water. This was his best copy.

The paper quality doesn't look too bad... probably not light tan. So, it should have no effect in this grade range. I think 5.0 is fair.
