Help IDing a guide book

First off, I apologize for how vague this request is going to be.

 

I remember looking at a (hardcover?) book at a friend's in the late 80s/early 90s that had all sorts of bios for obscure Marvel characters. I got a kick out of all the weird origins and pictures of characters I had never heard of before, and I've tried like crazy to find a copy of this book to read again. Unfortunately, the name escapes me, and I would probably only know it from the cover. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe :shrug:

 

Did it look anything like this? This is the trade paperback version of the mid-80s series. There were a lot of different covers.

I think I would have remembered Cap, but if there were different covers maybe it was one of those. I'll look into them further. Thank you.

Thanks. That first link didn't look like a whole lot, but then when I started clicking around, I saw all the subcategories. All those bios should keep me busy for a while. (thumbs u
