Congrats, we are still on the hunt....... hi.gif

Well I may have just clinched low grade Detectives 3, 4, and 5 and a higher grade Flash 82.

If I get them , that will make it 22.

I'm pinching myself.

And yes Buzzy 70 is still there approaching the finish line.

Jerome actually sent me a xerox of the cover so I could see it in all its glory, as it's neither in the Gerber guides, nor on Mike McVoiles DC Index site.

Good going Ian, several of the comics on your list seem quite tough to find even though they don't guide for much. "Here's Howie 7 or 17" is very difficult to find and may contend with Scribbly 6 and Buzzy 70 as the last non-expensive comic to be found. 893frustrated.gif

The Here's Howies should be ten dollar books.

But they're just not around.

Is Adventure 70 all that difficult in ANY grade???

It seems to stick to me out as the "one that does not belong"..

Is there a story with this book I just dont know about?

It's just the law of averages that a couple will be missing.

Adventure 70 shouldn't be difficult.

Neither should All American 89, Flash 43, Flash 97, Green Lantern 30.

These are not exceptionally rare or valuable books at all.

All five of those will be under four hundred each in a lower grade.

It's just finding them......

Green Lantern 30 is one of the few Alex Toth drawn issues. I know I've been looking for it for quite some time, and I was dismayed to see it show up on your list! Apparently I'll be looking for some time to come... 893frustrated.gif

$3500 for a VF/NM 9.0 but I am sure he would work with you.

Steve

The problem there is that if I found a low grade copy of Adventure 70, it would cost between $200 and $400, the same as all the surrounding issues.

I don't need a near mint, and the price just puts me right off. But I do need the book, but I'd prefer it in a lower grade.

A dilemma indeed.

I can't tell you why just yet, but I'm 99.999999% sure that Buzzy 70 won't be the last book for me to find.

He could always start up a new second DC collection. I can see his posts now - "Only 30,000 DCs To Go".
