OT-1768 Ben Franklin Poor Richards Almanac- CGC it?

14 posts in this topic

I recently purchased an original Poor Richards Almanac from 1768 and I was thinking of sending it to CGC , not to receive a grade, but to have it encapsulated for protection. Not sure if that would be a good idea or not or if they would even do it. I'm worried about the pages as they are very brittle. Any opinioins?

Hey, it's the first appearance of the proverb "eat to live not live to eat"

BTW, I was able to purchase it with the earnings from the sale of my fathers model railroad collection mentioned in another thread.

I'm gonna bring it to a museum and see what they say to do with it.

just thought CGCing it might be a good idea.

Call the Library of Congress. The convervation people there are exceptionally helpful.

Chances are, they will not tell you anything you do not already know. Climate control and mylar.
