Hugo Weaving could be the Red Skull

I don't know if this was mentioned in any of the other Cap threads but this is good news IMO. This guy can play a great villain.

 

Weaving to Play the Villain in Captain America?

Hugo Weaving ("The Lord of the Rings" and "The Matrix" trilogies) is reportedly in talks to play the villain Red Skull in Marvel Studios' The First Avenger: Captain America.

 

If he takes on the role, Weaving would be reuniting with The Wolfman director Joe Johnston.

 

Johnston and the studio are currently casting Steve Rogers/Captain America.

 

The film is expected to hit theaters on July 22, 2011.

Hopefully it's a good sign that they are in talks to land a great sort of character actor for the main antagonist of the film.

I don't have high hopes for the movie, but Weaving would certainly make an excellent Red Skull.

Folks who like Weaving may want to check out The Interview. Haven't seen it in a while but it was good, and pre-Matrix.
