Not literally, firguratively of course. Bought, what I thought was a VF-NM copy of Amazing Spider-man 101. Flipped through the book, nice staples, great covers and white pages. I get in the car and while my buddy is driving home I decide to take out the book to admire it some more. I turn to the very first page and at the bottom of the parge written in blue ink is some kid's name. GAAAAAAHHHHHH!! I don't know whether to be angry or embarrassed.

Chalk it up to learning experience. Never, ever buy a high-grade book without flipping through it first.

Is that kids name Stan Lee?

That's not a big deal IMO, I don't think it will even affect grade if you care about that(but I assume you do). This should just hammer home the point that you need to check out your books BEFORE you buy them.

Your first post is a complaint, you'll fit right in here unless you're a shill and then you still will fit right in here.

A name on the first page likely won't affect the grade at all.

+1

CGC doesn't downgrade for stuff on the interior like they do the exterior, and I agree with it entirely. The cover is for show, whereas the interior is for reading. Defects that affect the functionality of reading should be downgraded for, everything else, not so much.
