I could be wrong, but wouldn't the CGC have considered the signature a defect?

 

I feel that since they only started witnessing sigs within the past 5 years or so, they should have a hand writing expert on staff to verify sigs before that time. Just calling them defects isn't the right way. That just negates 80 years (or more) of signatures.

 

Again,if this is not the policy then I apologize. It's just my understanding.
