I recall reading a post here a few years back. Apparently Disney didn't disclose to Banks all the fan mail that was sent to him - so he was never aware of how much people liked his work. This was done by Disney to keep his salary down.

 

Then towards the end of his career, some fans managed to meet him, and he was extremely grateful over the encounter.

 

Pretty unfortunate overall.

I think it is worth it (though not to me-- I am on a budget). There are only two hundred of them. It is one of the better ones. It is based on a brilliant story. Barks is one of the very, very best people ever to work in the business. There.

I can't think of anyone who's brought more joy to my comic reading life than Carl Barks. If I was stranded on an island and given the choice of comics, it would be his comics I would choose.

Not to get to off-topic but since we are talking Barks on Ebay.I have a pair of old lee Dungarees that Carl Barks owned that I purchased at a auction years ago and is certified that they were his by his estate. is there any market for these? I know some old dungarees go for thousands of dollars that wear worn by celebs or famous painters.Just curious.
