I am selling privately a couple of sweet originals from my personal collection in addition to my weekly eBay auctions which started tonight!

 

The pieces listed below, if they do not sell, will go back into my subterranean vault and not be offered again! This art has dwelled in my collection for over 25 years!

MILT GROSS COUNT SCREWLOOSE SUNDAY PAGE

Dated October 11, 1931, this is a great example of the COUNT SCREWLOOSE Sunday newspaper strip by the legendary Milt Gross! Signed in the last panel. 27-1/2” x 13-1/2” and is in very good condition.

 

Art was scanned in three pages and stitched together. Lines through art are from the stitching and do not appear on the actual original which is in great shape! There is also a yellowish tinge to the scan which is from the scanner, the art is actually off white.

BOB POWELL THUNDA – COMPLETE 7-PAGE STORY

Complete 7-page story featuring THUNDA in “The Man From The Sky” drawn by Bob Powell which was published in the one-shot, AFRICA #1. by ME Comics in 1955.

 

Mighty Thunda is only afraid of one thing, that modern man will come into the world he rules and spoil it with his factories, weapons and wars. His worst fears come to reality when an explorer named Everard flies into the Dawn World dead set on proving its existence! He is attacked by a prehistoric boar, a dinosaur and cave men, all of he is saved from by Thunda, who is unaware Everard is taking photos of everything! Thunda, unaware of the man’s betrayal takes him to the ancient city of Shareen where he spies gold and precious jewels all around. This sets his greedy mind working. He sneaks away planning to fly out but Thunda discovers his plans and diables his airplane with a flaming arrow. Everard lands near a glowing cave and runs through it back to the outside world! He was unaware the cave’s walls were lined with uranium and a few weeks later, back home, discovers all his photos were ruined and no one will ever believe his story. A great tale with lots of jungle action plus a few pretty girls to boot!

 

Signed at the bottom of the first page. Originals measure 13-1/4” x 19” and are in very good condition. The logo on page 1 is a stat, otherwise the art is 100% original. There is some white-out on page 2 in the 4th & 6th panels. Otherwise there are miniscule dabs here and there. The blurry center area on page 7 is from the scanner, I tried to stitch the pieces together cleanly but they refused to co-operate. The page, as is the entire story, is in nice shape!
