Wups, forgot to mention the small, neat pencil signature FC, take a look at the scan.

Four Color 22, FIRST SERIES Don Winslow of the Navy

Book has some spine roll, and critter chews along a couple inches of the spine, and someone has put two pieces of tape on the outside, first over the lower staple, second over the worst of the chews, along the gauge and pipe at left FC. Another neat pencil signature upper RH FC, and that's about it, just general wear. Attractive lower grade copy with tight spine and CF, cream to offwhite, supple pages.

$50 takes it.

Okay, on to the second series, but still REALLY EARLY

Four Color 10, Flash Gordon

Flat, clean, square, tight spine but the CF, although still attached, is hanging by a thread at both staples. Otherwise minor wear and there's that pencil sig again, only this time a bit sloppier.

Contains Alex Raymond newspaper reprints from the Ice Kingdom storyline.

$150 takes it SOLD!

No idea, Scrooge.

I bought this lot from my buddy at the LCS, he claims the folks that brought these in have another 300 or so from the same era that he's hoping they'll bring around in a week or two.

I'm guessing OO, and several more have the same sig.

Thus endeth the Four Colors.

Next up, a couple WWII vintage books

First up:

United States Marines 3, featuring one of Our Boys flamethrowing the evil Tojo octopus! Book is okay from the front side, but the silverfish have been at the perimiter of the BC, see scans. Ahh well, the flamethrower cover is still a nice displaying item.

$40 takes it. SOLD!

One further note, the scan doesn't show it very well, but the bug chew continues pretty much the entire LH BC edge, maybe 1/4" wide.

War Heroes 1, 1942 Dell, General MacArthur story

Book is flat and clean enough, but there are 4 small pieces of tape along the inner spine, one each at the staples, one each at upper and lower spine. Other than that, a pretty decent copy.

$30 takes it.
