My feelings about the auctions, AAMOW has been selling alright, GICs are down, 10-cent OAAWs in 8.0 should get $200, great time to be collecting OFFs, these are all so very cheap, SSWS have done well for me, generally.

 

I'm wondering if there were "investors" or "speculators" that popped in to see if they could make a buck on war books and now they've decided to leave. (shrug) Perhaps less buyers? Well, obviously I'm selling, and I believe it'll have an effect on the final values, but not a huge effect. Can't quite place it. Any thoughts from the peanut gallery? Shep, Mick, assorted nuts?

 

Looks like a good time to be buying, though. (thumbs u

I wonder if there is such a limited amount of collectors that are willing to pay high nosebleed prices, that with you out of the mix, prices are falling down? I look at the prices of these vs. 'popular' titles, and still gag on some of the high prices being paid. :P

 

I'd love to have a lot of these books, and have been bidding, but they are still going for $ out of my price range.

I think you nailed it. sadly. Ive found that after Ive stopped chasing cool books that they go for a lot less than my winning bids would have been if I chased them seriously. Its maddening. and makes me pine for the days before auction format took over. It produces a less orderly marketplace than dealers just upping prices, sale by sale, guide by guide.
