SDCC '10 | Scuffle over seats in Hall H ends in stabbing

 

Multiple reports are emerging out of Comic-Con International this afternoon of a scuffle over seats in Hall H, ending in a stabbing. The massive room, where many of the film presentations are held, was locked down, and a man led away by police in handcuffs.

 

Although details are scarce at the moment, Dread Central reports the fight erupted just as the Resident Evil: Afterlife panel was ending about 4:45 p.m. PST. The fight between two attendees allegedly broke out when one of them refused to change seats. According to Dread Central, one man stabbed the other in the eye with a pen.

 

The lockdown of Hall H means panels for Paul and Cowboys & Aliens have been delayed, which means the hotly anticipated Marvel Studios presentation has been pushed back.

 

Comic Book Resources is attempting to contact Elite Security, the San Diego Police Department and area hospitals for more details. We'll update as more information is available.

Seriously though, that is messed up and the person who committed this act needs some serious psychiatric help.

"It was all over and done with very quickly but, in short, what happened was a young man had saved a seat for a friend. Someone else, of course, wanted that saved seat. An argument erupted. Seated guy kicked seat wanter. Seat wanter then stabbed the seat saver with his ballpoint pen. It didn't go "in" the man's eye - as most are reporting - but it went close. Another attendee grabbed the assailant, while the victim covered his wound."

 

"When Harrison Ford walked out on stage as part of the "Cowboys and Aliens" panel he, to everyone's surprise, made a funny about the stabbing... he was even escorted out in hand-cuffs! It was probably just what the crowd needed to divert the attention back to the films though."

What's so bizarre is that this maroon who stabbed the victim is going to get a real taste of reality - a record for a violent crime, not even counting any potential jail time, which will follow him forever and really limit his career opportunities.He's probably blubbering right now, guaranteed.

 

It's tough out there and I know a guy who got hired, then canned, all because of a single DWI when he was a younger turned up on a routine check - otherwise he's clean as a whistle.

 

All for a freaking seat at some useless funny book forum. What is world coming to. doh!

I must be reading that wrong because I'm reading that as ford was taken out in handcuffs for making fun of it :makepoint: its late I'm tired doh! Honestly if some one stabbed me in the eye they better finish the job cause I'd be going after them hardcore! I just don't see the point to living with out sight lol
