Incredible High Grade CGC Graded Books in Pedigree Comics' Grand Auction!

4 posts in this topic

This is a reminder to all forumites about our upcoming Grand Auction, the 9th live auction we’ve run since the time-based format began back in July, 2008. Now only 2 weeks away, the auction is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m EST the night of Sunday, August 29th and last for ten (10) days, with the first half of books ending the afternoon of Wednesday, September 8th and the final half of books closing on Thursday, September 9th. Whether you are a collector, dealer, investor or casual fan, this post will have important and interesting information for you regarding our upcoming event. The auction will feature over five hundred (500) high grade CGC certified comics and magazines, many being the highest CGC certified according to the census, and it is shaping up to be one of the best online auctions for high-end, investment grade comic books EVER. Most of the books in the Grand Auction will be listed with no reserve and the minimum bid on every item is only $100.00. You will simply not believe how many gorgeous CGC graded books will be available to buy and bid on in the auction. As of this post, over 400 books are already listed and viewable in the Auction Preview.

Many of the books in the Grand Auction come from two recently unearthed original owner collections consigned to Pedigree, the “Three Rivers Collection” out of Three Rivers, Michigan and the “Bogota Collection” from Bogota, New Jersey. The “Three Rivers Collection” consists of high grade runs of many 1960’s and 70’s DC titles, plus Fantastic Four, Strange Tales and Tales to Astonish from Marvel, as well as an incredible group of Dells and Gold Keys that ranks among the best ever offered for sale. The near-complete Flinstones run (Dell Giant #48 plus Flinstones #3-#60) from this collection is easily the nicest one in existence. The just consigned books from the Bogota Collection feature some high grade early issues of Amazing Spider-Man, including the world’s first and only 9.8 copy (with white pages!) of the coveted Amazing Spider-Man #40, plus a nice run of beautiful Fantastic Fours between issues #39 and 56 that are at CGC right now waiting to be graded. The Fantastic Four run will be certified and listed in time for the start of the Grand Auction.

There are many other consigned prominent books in high grade to bid on and buy, highlighted by a Tales of Suspense #39 in 9.4, the second highest CGC graded copy behind only two pedigrees in 9.6; a gorgeous copy of Amazing Spider-Man #1 in 9.0; a 9.2 copy of Amazing Spider-Man #3; an Avengers #1 and #4 in 9.2; Fantastic Four #2 in 9.0; the Pacific Coast copy of Atom #2 in 9.6 and some beautiful early issues of Green Lantern, including #1 in 9.0, #3 in 9.2, #9 in 9.4, #11 in 9.2 and #18 in 9.4 plus the world’s best copy of Green Lantern #76 (9.6 with white pages!). There is a fabulous run of ultra high grade Not Brand Echh, the nicest one in existence, a killer 9.6-9.8 run of Silver Surfer 1-7, a high grade group of late 1960’s Wonder Womans plus a great group of 9.6 Amazing Spider-Mans. However, the highlight of the auction has to be the unbelievable and best existing early run of Flash consisting of over 15 issues between #105 and #151, all of which (save for 3) are the highest certified copies!!

Please check the Latest News section on the Website (www.PedigreeComics.com) in the next few weeks and this space a couple of days before the auction start date for more information and announcements on the upcoming Grand Auction. There are still over one hundred high grade books waiting to be CGC certified in time for the auction commencement, including an incredible batch of 50 books we just recently purchased at the San Diego Comic Con, all estimated in 9.6 t0 9.8 condition.

Remember, we are still accepting consignments for the August Grand auction and will continue to do so even after the auction commencement, until Friday, September 3rd. Please go to the site for all consignment information or contact us at (561) 422-1120 or (561) 596-911 or by email at DougSchmell@pedigreecomics.com. Consignors maximize their profits selling in the Grand Auction, more so than on any other auction site or auction house. We do not charge a Buyers Premium, an amount that most bidders take into consideration when bidding in our competitors’ sites (the bidders simply deduct that Buyers Premium amount from their final bidding price, meaning less $$ to the consignor and more to the auction site). The higher the value of your book(s) that sell in one of our Grand Auctions, the more $$ you take home under Pedigree Comics’ Climbing Scale. We consistently set new sales records for Silver and Bronze Age comics in each Grand Auction and on our regular site and we do not saturate the market with the same material over and over every month as our competitors do in their monthly auctions. Our Grand Auctions are unique and exciting, with new and diversified, top-rated CGC material in each quarterly event. Why settle for less by consigning with someone else?

Prospective consignors can also upload their own scans, item information, descriptions and reserve amounts for the upcoming Grand Auction by utilizing the Automated Consignment System. It is actually very easy and fun to do. Just register onto the site, click "Customer Page" under "Your Account" and then click "Consignments" (under "Auctions"). You will then be able to enter the Pedigree Comics Consignment Management System and upload your own CGC certified books and magazines. We will receive an email automatically once you have uploaded the information and they will then review the information imparted for accuracy. The item(s) will then be added to the August Grand Auction to be bid on. You will be amazed how simple it is to utilize the Automated Consignment System.
