SLG trademark problems?

Does anyone know the back story to SLG legal problems? Here's the link:

"SLG Publishing has been embroiled in a trademark issue revolving around our comic book about a certain gun heiress."

Wow, that sucks. How can there be a case about them anyway? Are we not allowed to write nonfiction anymore? As far as I understand the comic was going to be nonfiction.

I've searched court databases for civil proceedings, and it looks like at this time there has not been an actual tort filed. Sounds like a lot of back and forth between lawyers without any actual claim being filed.

 

I could have missed it or it may not have been entered yet, but it sure looks like no lawsuit at this point.

Whatever the case may be, I have no problem donating some money to them. Lenore is one of my favorite comics ever.

I was planning on getting that comic for my sister too. She digs that Winchester mansion.
