Now, I have always loved this book. I don't know how desirable it is, in terms of DC collectors, but it is a major key...Terrific art by Murphy Anderson (Eric Roberts owns the cover art ) - I have been trying to get a high grade copy for some time, but the one that I've seen isn't quite right.....Today I get an email from Ebay per my want list and I see this !! - Too rich for my blood, but just an incredible copy...White pages and all !!

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this seller a board member ?....And why is he selling these incredible Showcases ?!

I'd sure like to have that copy. I'm sure it will go for more than I'm willing and able to spend on it. I think I'd be happy with at least an 8.0 copy.

I'd love a 9.0 white myself, but it has to have a nice wrap. It's a toughie for sure...

always loved that purple cover. one of the first HG DC's i ever bought, from the great Stavros Merjos. David must be a collector's society member since he's got his books in the registry. don't believe he posts here.

Here's mine and I'd never want to upgrade, this ones perfect to me. One of my favorites of the SA, always pull for Solomon Grundy!

Couldn't do it. I just like the cover that much. Pulled it with the Splash page to Flash 124.

I don't blame you for hanging onto that one....Beautiful book for sure ! ....I did the same with art, sold it all but one piece. - Just couldn't part with it.

Well, it ended a little under 1700...I expected to be much more, around 2500...

Hard to tell sometimes with Silver Age DC books, usually it's just 2 bidders going at it.

 

Not sure how much it helped having the book end at the same time as the Comicconnect and Clink auctions though.

That is bit soft since it's the next best 9.6 out there and top by a 9.8.
