That ugly broad needed $100,000 a month for nails, spas and other cosmetic redundant non-sense to keep her dried up ugly body looking like she is 95 instead of looking 105 in lieu of maybe taking that money for actual baseball players for the team.

Yup, everyone hates greedy profiteers.

Oh, the irony is just killing me.

I hate to say this, Nick, because I do, and will continue to disclose anything I know...but I can't vote for those options...

There was a reason I didn't want to start a poll, it's very difficult.

I don't want to see blacklists, I'm not McCarthy...and I don't think we can derive enough information from a few posts in the marketplace to put people on lists.

I'd prefer an option where we ask for some suggested statements to be included in the rules.

I will not sell to Commies! :sumo:

I felt they would suck at the years start.Played semi well until mid season just to dash my hopes on the rocks.

Oh well there is next year :wishluck:

Seriously, pressing is NOT restoration. It is a different process, but calling pressing restoration is like calling water milk. The simple fact that you call it that doesn't make it so.

Drives me nuts when people who frequent the CGC boards basically ignore CGC's stance on pressing. They don't care. If you don't believe it, ask them. I have and they don't.

If you want to go to the CBCA board and post such drivel that is fine. The kool aid drinkers will lap it right up.

Sorry for going off on you guys, but I feel the post was inappropriate in a grown up conversation.

CGC can't call it that because they're in the business of selling restoration detection, but since you can't detect pressing, it weakens their credibility to call it restoration, so it's better for business if they don't. Their vested business interest biases them on the subject.

I could care less about pressing other than everyone constantly complaining about it, and I love restoration...but pressing is restoring the book to a previous state. That's restoration. I respect Overstreet for changing his own way of describing pressing. He used to describe it as restoration, but when CGC decided not to, he backed off and just describes it as controversial, which is absolutely true. I presume he did it in the interest of pragmatism and consensus-building, which is fantastic. :applause:

Very well said...

I'm back, and Dale...I was merely suggesting that you use a P in your inventory, because I couldn't figure out how you could be so neat about one code and have to rely on memory for another. I don't know about you, but I'm older than I used to be and memory, doesn't work so well with me anymore for lists.

When you have a code on the back of a book, I know that many of us who buy, have NO clue what it means, the code was for YOU. You could put B and Q for all it matters.

BTW, I believe that milk IS mostly water;)

Pressing is restoration. If you have to use a machine to improve your comics, it's Resto. Flick a booger off, bend back a corner, wet your finger, do whatever you want with your bare hands, that's fine. But once a machine is thrown in the mix, to me it's Resto.

And I've said it before, if Steve Borock hated Pressing as much as he loves it, CGC would've been able to detect it years ago.

Should you do this you are now restricting the sales threads to those who press and actively disclose and those who do not press and can vouch for the book.

What happens to those who do not press and do not know if a book is pressed? What do they disclose? Are they now suspect simply because they do not have an answer?

We all saw what happened to Steve B's sales thread when he said the books "may or may not have been pressed".

If you know, you say.

If you don't know, you say you don't know.

Sounds simple enough to me.

That's just not true.

Proving a book has been pressed is different than proving a book has been restored.

With a restored book you can identify foreign matter conclusively proving it's existence. There's no grey area.

With a pressed book I'm betting that you can not every truly confirm whether the book was heated and/or pressed on purpose, by accident or at the time of printing (because all paper is pressed and heated at the time of production).

That's why I made my Arizona comment earlier last week. Nothing against Arizona...just using it as an example of a state with a hot climate not ideal for storing books. I'd rather know if a book was stored in a hot climate than if it was pressed in a controlled environment. To me that is a much more useful piece of information.

Roy, no need for AZ. Just think of all of the people who stored their books in attics, etc. Intention is impossible to prove when non-mechanical pressing is used v. environmental conditions, and I've never really heard much about being able to tell the difference between controlled pressing v. "natural" pressing (other than controlled actually seems to look better when done right).

Right. I think their is a myriad number of possible storage scenarios that comics go through and all of them are very destructive to the book. Hot cars, humidity, storing books next to an outside wall where the temperature changes often, attic etc.

You get the idea.
