This "new look" Superman is making the TV national news today. Mostly talking-heads shaking their heads and laughing about it.

Is DC after the Twilight reader with this reboot? For 75th anniversary buzz it seems a bit embarrassing.

How is this a reboot when it doesn't influence the core Superman titles?

 

DC has been doing this stuff for years under the Elseworlds imprint - it allows them to take characters in new directions, and into unfamiliar terroritory, whilst remaining unencumbered by 70 years of back story.

That's what I thought too (elseworlds tale). I guess DC's publicist is blowing it with unclear press releases as to what this revamp is exactly.

 

Maybe "Earth One" continuity will be DC's Ultimate universe line of books.
