ASM 638 2nd Print Variant

This is the issue with the big '0' on the cover. So what is the deal with this issue? It seems to have been advertised but never solicited by Diamond. There were a couple of issues available on eBay (till I bought them) but nowhere near as many as I would have expected if it had been released.

 

Anyone have any solid intel on this one?

I dont know either, but I have seen them sell very well on ebay.

It was solicited, but it may have been done with short notice to retailers. It was in the comic list that week, and I saw the cover on Marvel's website a few days before release.

 

The weird thing it was listed as one of the items in the delayed shipment to west coast the week of August 25th, but never showed up the next week.

It definately came out.

 

The interesting thing is that there was obviously an intent to release 639-641 Second Prints with the letters M, I, T... But I guess sales weren't good enough.

It was to spell OMIT? I know One Moment In Time, but OMIT?

Diamond still says they never had it. Did it come out through another venue? NYCC maybe?

I wonder if the cases were stolen... I could have sworn I saw it on the list my LCS showed me that they were shorted on that week due to the trucking problem.

 

I will investigate further next Wednesday.
