I like a 2.5. If you could center your book so it doesn't get cropped would be ideal. (thumbs u

 

Will do, thanks for the pointer. I do have a question, what should I be setting my DPI at when I scan? Currently I set it at 600 (max per my scanner) and it seems the scanner really accenuates the flaws in my books.

WTTB. 2.5 Possible 3.0 In hand. IMHO

 

I would try using 300 DPI for your scans. It seems to be the right size. Big enough for the boards. Plus it doesn't over accentuate any flaws the book may have.Try to not crop the book at all. Using different color backgrounds can help out as well. Use a black background on a light color book, and vice versa.
