TMNT #1 1st Print

I know its not a scan, but this book is in amazing condition except for the area I have circled. Basing this book on its a 9.8 what would you say that crease turns it out to be?

 

And there is nothing I can do about improving this is there? Such a shame.

Sorry. But this book is not a 9.8 without the mentioned damage. I can see other problem area's as well. I highly doubt anything can be done to help the damage you have high lighted.

 

Better pics or scans will be needed to give a good grade guess. Both the FC and BC.

Even without that impact dent/tear the book still wouldn't be a 9.8 - look at the bottom of the photo, where the flash hits the book; it's pretty clear there are other indentations/marks on this book than the one the seller circled (and you have no clue what the back cover looks like).

In theory if this was a 9.8, how much would that crease itself take off?

If that was the only defect, I still wouldn't sell this book as being higher than an 8.5.

IF this was the only flaw on a otherwise 9.8 TMNT 1. I would guess it would grade out in the 8.0 - 8.5 area. IMHO as always.

If you're basing the grade on the front cover scan, there's just no way this is a 7.0 book - this is an easy 8.0 all day long ...

The indentations on the cover,let alone that nasty gouge on the bottom cover.I say no higher than 7.5,personally if this book were offered to me I would pass.

It's certainly not an 8.5/9.0 as described.
