it went so high because tho' only a 2.5 technically, it presents like a 6.5.

I thought CGC hammered staining, but not on that book. IMO that book is a great restoration candidate.

at $40,000 you would lose big time for restoring.

Yeah probably. I don't sell my books though. I look at that book and it cries out to at least have the cover cleaned, so I figure while your at it fill in and ct that corner and have one super nice looking book.

It looks like the long lost brother of the (in)famous CGC 2.5 Action 1

I'm not a hater of the foxing/mold as it is so easy to be. But I think that combined with the missing pieces and other flaws (in both books) warrant a 2.0 at best. I think a 1.5 would be harsh on both as there are some ugly tape infested books that get the 1.5 Blue label.

But hey in both cases you get a complete unrestored book with decent page quality and the cover attached. Sure it's low grade but still a decent book to own. Pricing may be an issue but hell, I'd buy the Action 1 for whatever it sold for in 2004 and be lucky for it. And I remember the boards making all kinds of fun of this book when it sold back then.
