EDIT: For some reason I transposed a different picture of the back cover in my head.

 

(There's a Bat 1 on the market on CC that has a transposed "Detective Comics" logo on its back cover (LINK http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=409291) , and I was thinking this had that back cover stain BUT it does NOT. After further review and correction I would like to disregard my earlier comment. :boo:

That also seems like a really strong price for a coverless copy, especially considering the slighly brittle notation. Wonder if this is going to be parted out.

I think mike means CF or other wraps removed and used to complete another copy. I think the $21k price is justified despite the sl. Brt. PQ. Especially if the buyer happened to have a Tec 27 cover..i recall clink auctioning a cvrls Action 1 with nice PQ a few yrs back for 22k.
