This will always be a tough run to choose from.....some of the most powerful covers EVER.....you can see where Kirby's heart was. The 126 onward portion is also. Covers don't get much better. GOD BLESS...

Voted!

My votes probably won't matter, I am sure most people will vote for 83, 89 & 112. Love those covers, just don't think they are "the best".

Question, Steve.... After grading a million comics, did you ever find that issues that are frequently slabbed and have cool covers become boring after grading 500 of them ? GOD BLESS...

No, not really. I did, however, find that the more comics I had seen, my tastes would change as I saw how some artists grew into better artists. That's one of the reasons I like the Kirby JIM covers in the later period better.

My votes... 83, 89, 95, 101, 111, 112, 114, 118

I voted for most of those, but one of my favorites is #87. I just like that cover and it is also the first JIM that I remember buying off the rack when I was a kid.

I love the JIM run, but 83 and 93 are my least favorite of the run. 83 is just a ridiculously hokey cover. Unbelievable that 104, 110 and 108 didn't make it to the second round, but out of the ones that are left, 86, 89, 95, 111, 112, 114, 118 and 122 are the best of the bunch.

I've never really understood why # 89 is that popular. It's a nice cover for sure but it's a bit dull and over the years, we must have seen dozens of poses of Thor done at least as well.

Never underestimate the power of nostalgia. :cloud9: My 1st JIM was #115, given to me by my Uncle Joesph circa 1974. I was 6 at the time + he was getting me into comics + music. :cloud9: :cloud9:
