The Big Book Of Fun Comics

128 posts in this topic

Suggested Ian, with admiration and affection, from someone whose Grandmother was born in Brighton. thumbsup2.gif

Then I shall graciously accept it with pride.

Now can anyone persuade "Golden" to sell me that Big Book Of Fun Comics ??????

You know, Ian, I'll bet you they'd trade you that one for some of your rare doubles if you explain why you want it. 893crossfingers-thumb.gif

Funny you should say that.....I carry a stone in my wallet as a good luck charm that I picked up on the beach at Brighton when I visited in 1997 . thumbsup2.gif

Well, there are plenty more where THAT came from. grin.gif

He's probably serious. I would definitely contact them, and discuss your situation. It never hurts to ask. The worst thing they could say would be no. Besides, the book is probably in deep storage and hasn't seen the light of day in years.

Imagine if some unsuspecting casual collector paid three hundred dollars for it, stuck it away in his attic for the last eight years, and here I am about to give him five thousand for it.

Although I doubt that a casual collector ended up being the high bidder for it (not will several serious pre-hero collectors out there), I have to wonder why it looks like you are offering so little for your most wanted book.

Last time I checked BBofFC guided for more than Double Action #2 (and was tougher to find), so why would you offer less for it then you paid for the Double Action?

Are you sure you're serious about wanting to buy one?

I genuinely thought the Double Action 2 was rarer.

Of course I'm serious. I'm also short of money, and just 14 away from every DC ever made. It's a dilemma.

I figured a really beat up low grade Big Book Of Fun Comics wouldn't be more than five grand anyway.

Well I'm less bothered about the Heart Throbs 24 as I am about the other three because it's not a DC. But to think they have THREE of my missing fourteen.

AAAARGH.

Metarog, as you've brought me so much luck in the past, and as you live in the US, might you consider contacting them ???? I would be so appreciative. I'll give them any number of extra swaps to increase the numbers of comics they hold.

We'd better get a scan of Here's Howie 17 first.

And courtesy of the WONDERFUL Jerome Wenker, my favourite DC collector in the whole wide world, I now have one.

But it's too big to upload on here. I just tried. PLEASE can we add it to the poster ??????
