Oddly enough, one of the eBay sellers I buy from e-mailed me this:

and insurance. A copy just closed on ebay yesterday

at $919, so I think that's a fair price.

To help put this auction in perspective, here's the GPA data for CGC 9.4 of Witching Hour #1:

 

Jan 2003 $390.00

Feb 2003 $457.50

Jul 2003 $414.00

Oct 2003 $450.00

May 2004 $919.71

 

And I got my CGC 9.4 Northland Pedigree in Oct 2002 for $455.

 

So less than 18 months ago you could get it for less than $400... I personally thought $550 would be THE MAX this book would go for. So much for me hoarding more copies...

What I am saying is that a Marvel of a comparable quality wouldn't have lasted until the last day.

I've been saying the same thing since the first slabbed books sold at such high multiples of guide. I find it amazing that people are still willing to pay the outrageous prices for these slabbed books.
